Anne Fine was born December 7, 1947 in Leichester, England. She married and divorced Kit Fine. She received a B. A. Degree from the University of Warwick. She has taught English, been a freelance writer, volunteer for Amnesty International, and a writer of children's, young adult's and adult books. Her books have won numerous awards.
